McNeil Dinghy Series Trophy

The trophy is awarded in the Southern California Midwinter Optimist Regatta to the child of a member or a junior member of the Los Angeles Yacht Club who scores highest in the Optimist Mid-Winter Championship. This trophy was donated to the Los Angeles Yacht Club on May 1, 1965 by deed executed by Robert G. McNeil to encourage dinghy sailing by children of Club members or junior members. Pursuant to the power granted in that deed to the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Yacht Club to modify the terms of the competition, the trophy was re-deeded in 2011 to competition in the Optimist Midwinter Championship Regatta between children of members and junior members of LAYC.
